Safety Tips: Hide Your Computer Activity

Google Chrome:

1. At the top right, click More
2. Click History   History.
3. On the left, click Clear browsing data. A box will appear.
4. From the drop-down menu, select how much history you want to delete. To clear everything, select All time.
5. Check the boxes for the info you want Chrome to clear, including “browsing history."
6. Click Clear data.

Internet Explorer:

1. In Internet Explorer, select the Favorites button (star icon).

2. Select the History tab, and choose how you want to view your history by selecting a filter from the menu. To delete specific sites, right-click a site from any of these lists and then select Delete.

Mozilla Firefox:

1. Click the Library button , click History and then click Clear Recent History

2. Select the Time range to clear to choose how much of your history Firefox will clear (the last hour, the last two hours, the last four hours, the last day or everything).

3. Check all of the check boxes

4. Click the Clear Now button. The window will close and the items you've selected will be cleared from your history.

Safari:

• On iPhone or iPad: go to Settings > Safari, and tap Clear History and Website Data.

• On Mac: In the Safari app, choose History > Clear History, then click the pop-up menu. Choose how far back you want your browsing history cleared.

Hide Email Tracks:

1. Be sure to delete any outgoing and incoming emails
2. Change your email password often
3. Print all threatening and harassing emails to use as evidence of criminal activity.
4. Do not handle the situation alone - contact the police for help.

Enable Private Browsing

If you plan to visit a site and want to do so without leaving leaving an traces, all major browsers have a private browsing feature.

Private Browsing in Google Chrome

Click on the Menu & Choose “New Incognito Window”. Any sites visited in this window will not be traced.

Private Browsing in Internet Explorer

Click on the “Safety” button and go to InPrivate browsing. Any sites visited in this session will not be traced.

Private Browsing in Mozilla Firefox

From the menu choose “New Private Window”. Any sites visited in this window will not be traced.

Private Browsing in Apple Safari

Click ‘Safari” on the top left and go to Private Browsing.
