Red Door is honoured to present a special virtual screening of the award-winning film Queen of the Morning Calm by writer/director Gloria Ui Young Kim.

Queen of the Morning Calm follows 29-year-old immigrant sex worker Debra (Tina Jung of Kim's Convenience) and her self-aware 10-year-old daughter Mona (award-winning newcomer Eponine Lee), as they embark on a journey of emancipation. Debra attempts to escape cycles of abuse and poverty while learning to become a more nurturing mother and discovering her own self-worth.

This special screening will help to raise funds for women and children affected by domestic violence. More than ever, many of the women who arrive at the Red Door are forced to flee desperate situations of abuse.  To make a donation to provide them with safe sanctuary, please click here
